Philippines, ones a first world country, having the best economic, political and social status in Asia, and now, we are left behind. Philippines has reached its critical level, that you should know. We are near recession just like what had happened in the United States of America.
May 10, 2010 is near and this is another historical event in the country, for this is the first time the election will be computerized. Once the election is done, another history will unravel the country, will we be able to get out of this quick sand or we’ll be devoured wholly and defenseless?
“hindi kami magnanakaw” and “kung walang korupsyon, walang kahirapan” these are the famous tagline of the ever TRAPO-SHIT candidate of the Liberal Party of the Philippines. I want to clear things up in here: First, “magnanakaw” (thief) and corruption, this is a perfect paradox on Noynoy’s side, why did I say so? The unending Hacienda Luisita Issue will tell you. What is the Issue of Hacienda Luisita? for thos who don’t know, I will wholly elaborate what the issue is all about.
HACIENDA LUISITA:
We were colonized by the Spaniards for more than three hundred years. After the Spaniards, we were colonized by the Americans and the Japanese. When the Philippines has emancipated from these colonizers our government then drafted the constitution (1935 constitution-commonwealth period). The question then at that time was who will own the land the Spaniards left. The Congress then passed a law that those who tilled the lands will own it. Hacienda Luisita was then transferred by the government to the hands of the Cojuangcos with the agreement that half of the land (13 hectares not sure with this) shall be turned over to the government and the other half will be then transferred to those who tilled the lands. The Cojuancos complied with the half of the agreement, and that’s to turn over the land in the government’s custody. Part of the remaining land were loaned in a bank. The remaining 4 hectares were the land being disputed now. 1963, A case was filed. But then, nabasura lang ito. The Cojuancos argument was that “When we came here, there are no tenants” The leader of the tenants answered “Kung walang tenants, paano tumubo ang mga mais at tabako dito?” makes sense isn’t it? can you imagine Ninoy and Cory tilling the land of 4 hectares? too studious isn’t it? Then came Marcos’ time. The case was sent on a higher court, but then again, nabasura ulet. Then, snap election came, Cory was asked to run for Presidency. In one of her speech “IBALIK ANG LUPA SA MGA MAGSASAKA”. When she won the election, she made a new constitution, 1987 Constitution. And also, made a law, CARP or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law. Farmers of Hacienda Luisita thought they could now claim the lands their grand fathers had tilled. Without them knowing, there is this clause in that CARP that REALLY TRICKED OUR POOR MAGSASAKAS, THE SDO OR STOCK DISTRIBUTION OPTION. What is this SDO? this clause only states that farmers are only to be given part of their fruits of labor instead of land. See how intelligent the Aquinos are? And so, the 2004 Hacienda Luisita Massacre Happend.
RELIGOUS GROUP’ ENDORSEMENT: IGLESIA NI CHRISTO, EL SHADDAI, JESUS IS LORD
IGLESIA NI CHRISTO: the religion known for BLOCK VOTING. Having a population of more or less eight million (source: daily inquirer) would not really affect directly the election knowing they are only a small chunk of the total number of voters. Think, That 8 (eight million population of Iglesia ni Christo includes those that are non-voters, some are minors and not registerd), lets give them the BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. Probably 6 million of them will be voting. Will they really follow what their ministro has endorsed? Some of these IGLESIANS are also running for election, and some of them are not being endorsed by their church -political rivalry- And so, it is totally a dichotomy.
They are known for block voting for according to them it is unity. We are rational animals endowed with free will. The Iglesia ni Christo, coercing their members to vote to whoever they will endorse is totally an act trampling on the free will BESTOWED TO US BY GOD! “Kaya nga rational, we can live INDEPENDENTLY”. Their ends is good, but their means of achieving their ends is evil by nature.
These churches, i suppose were not aware of our constitution that there is this SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. They can influence their people through giving opinions but not to totally coerce them and imposing to them what you want.
ASSESSING THE CANDIDATES:
GIBO: What’s scary with Gibo? Gibo is known to be an ally of the Arroyos and GMA is running for congress this election, what’s the connection you may ask? GMA is pursuing for Charter change for her to remain in power, but how will she remain in power if she’s no longer the president? GMA IS PURSUING FOR A BRITISH PARLIAMENT MODEL. What’s that model? that’s wherein the Speaker of the House is the head and most powerful position in the government. And so see the logic? She will then be appointed by Gibo as the speaker of the house and whalla! we are again under her administration and that could be forever but not until when she dies.
VILLAR: the most corrupt candidate this coming election. The c-5 extension road, unexplained wealth, and bills that where he benefits most. He’s good but we can see how greedy he is for wealth. Accdg. to Karl Marx, Once you have (let’s say 5php) you will aim for more, then if you were able to achieve that goal, you will aim for higher goal and that’s what’s happening to villar. Im really afraid if he wins, because, POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.
ERAP: oh mah gesh! BOBO ang boboto dito! WALA BANG PRINSIPYO MGA PILIPINO?? PAPATALSIKIN NILA TAPOS IBABALIK NILA ANG ISANG EX-CONVICT, ATENEO KICKED OUT AND MAPUA DROP OUT?, WOMANIZER, GAMBLER, I dont want to elucidate more about him, everyone knows his background and defenitly he wont win.
NOYNOY: He ran not because he wants change, HE RAN BECAUSE HER MOTHER DIED! I WILL NOT VOTE FOR NOYNOY! FIRSTLY BECAUSE HE IS NOT NINOY! HE IS NOT CORY! BUT HE IS NOYNOY? who is NOYNOY ANYWAY? he is a senator CAUGHT SLEEPING WHILE STANDING IN A SESSION, A SENATOR WHO HASN’T PASSED ANY LAW! (compared to lito lapid who already passed one law despite the fact that he has been branded as “bobo”). HE DOESN’T HAVE ANY EXECUTIVE WORK EXPERIENCE COMPARED TO OTHER CANDIDATES, HE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE LEGISLATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS AS WELL, AND EVEN SOCIO-CIVIC WORK EXPERIENCE! DO WE REALLY NEED THIS KIND OF PRESIDENT?
People cant seem to understand our POLITICAL SCENARIO, the possible BACKLASH if ever noynoy will win. When her mother died, everyone was emotional, and THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF IT. DAMN! NAKAKAHIYA TAYO!

GORDON: I cant seem to have remembered any BIG SCANDAL OR ISSUE HE WAS INVOLVED. Yes! he got really low percentage rate on surveys? but what are surveys? SURVEYS ONLY CONDITIONS THE MINDS OF THE PEOPLE, AND IF YOU GOT SWAYED BY THIS BULLCRAP SURVEYS, POOR YOU!
What we need now is an IRON HAND GOVERNMENT! someone who will truly embrace and enforce all the laws! WE DON’T DESERVE A MEDIOCRE KIND OF GOVERNMENT. Accdg. to Theda Scochpol’s theory of: STRONG STATE-WEAK SOCIETY, STRONG SOCIETY WEAK STATE THEORY, those having the “strong society-weak state condition, tends to collapse, and that’s what’s happening in our country right now. But Those country having the condition of strong state-weak society, tends to shape more its people, have greater economic, political and social status.

"MY DREAMS: MY SUCCESSION"

"To reach the sky, we need to reach the top of the mountain" In fact, to be on the top of the mountain, we must play a very important role. We must do some efforts, we have to sacrifice and we should learn to survive. Hardships, sacrifice and patience will lead us to attain our ambitions, sometimes we call it dream.

Dream is not just a sequence of thoughts and fancies nor a vision during the sleep. But for me, dream is the very important thing we wanted into our lives. And to attain those dreams we should have to carry things into our shoulders. That is dream. Everyone has a dream. Rich or poor, healthy or not. As for me, I have many dreams in my life. First and foremost, I want to become a successful professional in the future. I want a simple life filled with happiness. A life that will bind me in peace and love. A life that will give me light every time I'll stuck down on a night. Those are my dreams. Those are the things I would like to attain in my life.

As of now, I am currently preparing for my life in the future. Another level of learning is almost near to the finish line. More challenges, efforts and sacrifice will come through as we step in the next level of our lives. As a dreamer, I will not waste my time and effort. I will do my best and I will try hard to reach the sky which I wanted. And, I will make my dream as an inspiration for attaining it. Trials, patience and determination is the key for my own succession.

CHANGE:"IT STARTS WITH ME"

We live in nation filled with rage, poverty and catastrophe. Do you think we could settle this down and live under a place of progress, love and humility?

The modern age is in hurry. More and more people growing. Technologies, modern equipments are fascinating that man depends on it. Although advancement in technology continuously grow on this age, there are much people who are suffering from crisis.

Poverty, unemployment, shortage of basic needs and political issues. These are the major problems we face nowadays. Many people are suffering from poverty about half the population of the world. WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF POVERTY?? More people prefer not to work. Many people are unemployed or went into early marriages. Most people are not educated and of course because of the people who lead this nation. Some ranking officials are selfish. They only work for money and they don't care for what is going on to their fellows. Politics is also one of the biggest problems we face in our country. Many people has been died because of politics and the worst of all is that those people are innocent. We live in this kind of nation. This is the reality. We ruled by the law of lies. However, We,youngsters can make a change. How?

We can turn our nation in progress and make it a better place for living. We can attain this through our own hardship by means of education. We should study hard for this is the way to our successions and these success will serve as a key to change. Someday, we will be a better citizen of this nation. Nation of progress and peace. So we must try to forge knowledge for us to become an instrument of change. We must try hard, sacrifice and learn. The change of this nation, of this world is in our hands. LET US MAKE CHANGE! Let us make progress. And this starts with us.

''INSIGHTS ON THE THIRD GRADING PERIOD''

Third Grading Period has just passed. And we have just come to the beggining of the Last Grading Period. Days are very fast. However there are many important things and lessons I have learned from the Third Grading Period especially in the field of web making.

In the Third Grading Period, we take up web making and designs of web. We learned how to use the frontpage, an application which allows us to to create a webpage and web designs easily. We learned how to use various formatting in the frontpage like applying theme and costumizing the document prior to the web. We also create our own web design but its not finished yet. We are on the proccess of making our own web design, by this period, the project will be done completely. In learning how to create our own web design, I also encountered some problems. One of the problems I encountered is formatting the web, Creating hyperlinks and applying theme suitable to the web document. Lack of time to finish the project is also one of the problems I encountered. We have solved those problems easily by adjusting to situation, by means of our own discovery. Sometimes, we must try hard to solve a problem and the result will be possimistic. Its in our patience to solve those things then it can be finished. Those things I have learned has added me more knowledge about computer and information technology. If ever ill take up ICT in college, then I can use those knowledge. This is also useful in finding my own career.

Those topics I have taken in the Third Grading Period, really made me enjoy and I find excitment in making a web design. I hope this Fourth Grading Period will be more exciting than the Third Grading Period. And I hope that our teacher will teach us more tricks about web. Lastly and the most important of all, I hope that I will gain more knowledge and enjoy learning with my classmates because few days to go, will be the day of commencement, the day of the Graduation.

"THE TRUE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS"

"Days grow longer and nights grow shorter" We are already in the month of December and the Christmas day is going near to us. People are getting ready for this significant day. This is the season of happiness, love, forgiveness and as well as kindness. Rich or poor alike. Some people invites their friends, families and share their happiness together. Some people hold parties and have themselves enjoy all night long. But also, some would just ignore this day and does nothing.

Actually I am a person who loves Christmas season. For me, this is the day of happiness especially in a home. I never like them giving me gifts but a complete and a happy family is enough for me this Christmas. Gifts, parties, enjoyment is not that important to me. Sharing, caring, giving, loving and a wholesome family life are the true essence of celebrating this Christmas season. Most important thing is we must live under peace and love cause this is the day of Jesus. We celebrate this season with the presence of the Lord.

This Christmas Season, lets celebrate with full of love, happiness and peace. This is a special day cause this is the day of our Lord Jesus. And the best gift that we can share to others is by sharing our love, sharing our care towards other people. As to our community, living as a good citizen is the best gift that I can give. Cause God did not created this day for gifts but rather sharing, giving and loving which is the the true essence of this Christmas.

''LESSONS FROM THE CITY MEET''

Students, athletes, coaches, teachers. All this individuals were almost everywhere in the campus. This is the significant day in our school cause the Vigan City Athletic Meet is to be held.

It was November, 27-28, 2009. The City Meet was mainly happened in Ilocos Sur National High School ground were lot of games played. Shouting and cheering takes place on this event. Even I, I felt satisfaction, enjoyment and suspense as I watched the games. Like the other students who cheered their own school mates, I did too. We have an asssignment in this event, as a member of the Red Cross Youth, I voluntered to be a first aider in this big event like the other members of this organization. I am assigned in the volleyball. The other members went to the other games like nadminton, tennis, basketball and etc. I prefered to choose volleyball because it is one of my favorite sports. There were seven of us assigned in the game. And as the game starts I felt a little nervous, not the fear of having someone to be aided but because I felt excited in this game, mostly it is played by the ISNHS team and the DWCV team. At the 1st set of the game, the ISNHS team showed their very good abilities making the other team felt nervous. The 1st match won by the ISNHS team and I am very glad of that thinking that they might finish the game so easily, but in the second match, the game is a draw and I felt disappointed cause I sensed that they let their selves overconfident. At the 3rd set of the game, I felt so uneasy and more disappointed because the team was lost and I wonderd, why? Maybe they were oveconfident on that game? My enjoyment was faded so easily because of that.

I will never forget that event cause I learned one and important thing and lesson. Its about "never expect so high cause this could lead you to disappointment whereas you don't know what would happen next. I realized that myself, thanks to that event. Next time, I will know what to do.

"INSIGHTS IN SECOND GRADING PERIOD;TLE"

Second Grading Period has now ended. Now, we are just starting in the beggining of Third Grading Period. There were many that i've learned in the Second Grading Period. Although the lessons are slightlly hard, I've tried to make myself enjoy and I found out that it is really enjoying. In this period I've learned how to use the Basic Html Tags for making a web design. Ilearned also how to use the attributes, applying colors, backgrounds, fonts and many more.

In learning those things, Ive also met some technical problems like unable to finish the activity because of many mistakes but I am able to solve that problem by trying many times until I find out the solution. However, those problems made me think over and over again and I considered it as a challenge. Im happy that I solved that problem by myself. Every problem is a challenge to me and every challenge must be won by me.

Those lessons I learned is very important to me because this lessons might be a preperation for us in the college level. If I master the web making, I can make a web design easily and I would earn money. Thats why every explanation and discussions of our teacher is very important. I pay attention for what she is saying so that I can put it easily in my mind.

Now that the Third Grading Period begins, I must do better again unless I will be left behind. I will be very carefull in doing activities in our computer subject. I've not proven anything yet but one thing is for sure, Ill do my best in gaining knowledge for myself. I will study harder and I will give my very best. I hope that this Grading will make me challenge and make me think. I hope that our teacher in TLE will not tired to share us her knowledge and lastly I hope that I will gain knowledge upon studying not only in this subject but all subjects in our class.
