"THE TRUE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS"

"Days grow longer and nights grow shorter" We are already in the month of December and the Christmas day is going near to us. People are getting ready for this significant day. This is the season of happiness, love, forgiveness and as well as kindness. Rich or poor alike. Some people invites their friends, families and share their happiness together. Some people hold parties and have themselves enjoy all night long. But also, some would just ignore this day and does nothing.

Actually I am a person who loves Christmas season. For me, this is the day of happiness especially in a home. I never like them giving me gifts but a complete and a happy family is enough for me this Christmas. Gifts, parties, enjoyment is not that important to me. Sharing, caring, giving, loving and a wholesome family life are the true essence of celebrating this Christmas season. Most important thing is we must live under peace and love cause this is the day of Jesus. We celebrate this season with the presence of the Lord.

This Christmas Season, lets celebrate with full of love, happiness and peace. This is a special day cause this is the day of our Lord Jesus. And the best gift that we can share to others is by sharing our love, sharing our care towards other people. As to our community, living as a good citizen is the best gift that I can give. Cause God did not created this day for gifts but rather sharing, giving and loving which is the the true essence of this Christmas.

''LESSONS FROM THE CITY MEET''

Students, athletes, coaches, teachers. All this individuals were almost everywhere in the campus. This is the significant day in our school cause the Vigan City Athletic Meet is to be held.

It was November, 27-28, 2009. The City Meet was mainly happened in Ilocos Sur National High School ground were lot of games played. Shouting and cheering takes place on this event. Even I, I felt satisfaction, enjoyment and suspense as I watched the games. Like the other students who cheered their own school mates, I did too. We have an asssignment in this event, as a member of the Red Cross Youth, I voluntered to be a first aider in this big event like the other members of this organization. I am assigned in the volleyball. The other members went to the other games like nadminton, tennis, basketball and etc. I prefered to choose volleyball because it is one of my favorite sports. There were seven of us assigned in the game. And as the game starts I felt a little nervous, not the fear of having someone to be aided but because I felt excited in this game, mostly it is played by the ISNHS team and the DWCV team. At the 1st set of the game, the ISNHS team showed their very good abilities making the other team felt nervous. The 1st match won by the ISNHS team and I am very glad of that thinking that they might finish the game so easily, but in the second match, the game is a draw and I felt disappointed cause I sensed that they let their selves overconfident. At the 3rd set of the game, I felt so uneasy and more disappointed because the team was lost and I wonderd, why? Maybe they were oveconfident on that game? My enjoyment was faded so easily because of that.

I will never forget that event cause I learned one and important thing and lesson. Its about "never expect so high cause this could lead you to disappointment whereas you don't know what would happen next. I realized that myself, thanks to that event. Next time, I will know what to do.

"INSIGHTS IN SECOND GRADING PERIOD;TLE"

Second Grading Period has now ended. Now, we are just starting in the beggining of Third Grading Period. There were many that i've learned in the Second Grading Period. Although the lessons are slightlly hard, I've tried to make myself enjoy and I found out that it is really enjoying. In this period I've learned how to use the Basic Html Tags for making a web design. Ilearned also how to use the attributes, applying colors, backgrounds, fonts and many more.

In learning those things, Ive also met some technical problems like unable to finish the activity because of many mistakes but I am able to solve that problem by trying many times until I find out the solution. However, those problems made me think over and over again and I considered it as a challenge. Im happy that I solved that problem by myself. Every problem is a challenge to me and every challenge must be won by me.

Those lessons I learned is very important to me because this lessons might be a preperation for us in the college level. If I master the web making, I can make a web design easily and I would earn money. Thats why every explanation and discussions of our teacher is very important. I pay attention for what she is saying so that I can put it easily in my mind.

Now that the Third Grading Period begins, I must do better again unless I will be left behind. I will be very carefull in doing activities in our computer subject. I've not proven anything yet but one thing is for sure, Ill do my best in gaining knowledge for myself. I will study harder and I will give my very best. I hope that this Grading will make me challenge and make me think. I hope that our teacher in TLE will not tired to share us her knowledge and lastly I hope that I will gain knowledge upon studying not only in this subject but all subjects in our class.

''ADAPTING TO DIVERSE SCIENCE CULTURE AND DEVELOPMENT''

Year 20090, the age of modern world and the age of technology. This will be the year of developmentthrough technology. Hi-tech gadgets, laptop, bullet trains, improvised cars. All this things will be happen.

Science and Technology has a great impact to us in the society. Many things created by science helped us in many ways. It improves our living standards. Among this are the cellphones, computers, electricity, and others. We should use technology in proper way so that it cannot create bad effects to our community and to ourselves. Science let's us know and discover something that can improve our lives.

Science has been a part of our lives. Everyday we are applying science, everyday we are using science, and all of us are part of science. The technologies we see nowadays are all product of science, from the discoveries, principles, experiments and the people responsible in making it. But then we must not let ourselves defending on science. In fact we should adopt to diversity of science culture and development for us to improve our daily life and appreciate the things made by god. Adopting to science culture is a one way of improving our lives. This makes us discover, explore and learn. Science controls the technological growth. Discoveries and experiments serves as the sign of the development of the world. Example, the high buildings we see, the cars passing by and hi-tech gadgets. Compare in the past or ancient time, the standards of the way of life is not easy. But now we can see the improvements in this world as our ideas also improving. All of these came through because of science.

Everything made by science brings convenience and comfort to our life. But we must also remember that whatever things created by science will bring benefits to man and that use it in better way. The wise and ability to ensure the greater good for us depends on those who have a greater wisdom in science and we, also can help ourselves. Adopting to diverse science culture and development will our lives as well as the society we live on.

''FILIPINO LANGUAGE:KEY OF NATIONAL IDENTITY''

“Our National language represents our nationality”

Every nation in this world was given a one language for the purpose of knowing its culture and its identity throughout the world. Danish cannot be use by French; Swahili cannot be a language of an Austrian, Sinhalese cannot be use by Filipinos. Every nation has its own contemporary culture as a result; we cannot use other language as our own.

Improving our National Language is not just simple like knowing phrases or orthography but using it in a serious discourse. Even if English known as the Universal language, we cannot blame others for they don’t know how to use this language. It is clear that our national identity can be seen more on our own language.

Our language is the key of our national identity. In the past years of war, our ancestors were easily replaced the system of our government. Little by little, the social way of permitting the new and modern culture changed their lives and continues generation to generation until we come up with a one language which made a bridge for us, Filipinos. This results to the good communications and understanding of the Filipinos which became as a sign of free nation. At present days we can feel the essence of unity and brotherhood of the Filipinos. Filipino language, our own language is very important to us because this reflects our Filipino nationality, and most of all it represents our culture.

Let us love the language we own. Let us build unity and brotherhood for us Filipinos. We should use our own language for this is the results of the sufferings of our ancestors. This is our inheritance to them. We could not leave this language because this is our culture, this represents our nationality. This is the purpose why we are given our own language.

''SPEAK ENGLISH AND FILIPINO''KEY TO A BETTER UNDERSTANDING''

Language is very important in all contemporary cultures. English is our Universal language and Filipino is our National language. This two language is very important to us, to our daily life and to our communications everywhere. What would happen if there is no language for us to communicate? Is there an understanding? All nations in the world have their own language. But English was made as the Universal language so that all of us, different peopple around the world will have a better understanding. We have Pilipinos have also our own language. Filipino is our National language. It serves as the bridge for us to connect around the islands of the Philippines. Indeed we cannot leave this language of our own cause this is our culture, this represents our Pilipino nationality and culture so we must use our own language. English is also important to us. This is our Universal language, meaning we can use it anywhere, any part of the world. We use English for abroad, world trade and peace talks. We have been using this language for a long time. We also use this language for finding jobs. So if we are English literate, we can carry ourselves well with confidence and amplitude and use it as an instrument for a good communication to the other part of the world. We can therefore conclude that Filipino an English plays a very important role to our communications. Filipino which is our National language and English as our Universal language. This two language will build as a bridge which leads us to the better understanding and to a great communications to you, to me and to all of us.

''INSIGHTS IN T.L..E FOR FIRST QUARTER''

In our technology an Livelihood Education, I learned a lot about information proccesing and services of technologies.

One of the discoveries and learnings that I have learned in every lessons we have met in this subject were the different search engines, the history of the internet, the usage of the internet its language, the HTML, XHTML, and the other functions and contents about the internet.

But in every topics and discoveries we used to learn, I have also met some problems like difficulty in searching on the net because in every search in the net, it consists of thousands of results and of that number of results, it is very difficult to find only one definition. I also encountered a problem in blog making about passwords and username. I was able to coup up with these challenges and problems by trying many times to search or to find solutions with these problems.Patience and industriosness is the key to succes.

Moving on to another quarter, I will improve myself and I will develop myself to be able to work confidentially in our computer subject and other subject in our class. I will make myself better than these quarter.The discoveries I have learned will serve as my guide in the next quarter.

The discoveries and learning that I have learned will also help me to be updated all over the world, the events, happenings and daily news in the world or around the world.How can we get informed about everyday's events and what is going to happen next if we are not connected to technologies, therefore we will get only few informations essential to our daily life.

With these experiences in this subject I learned a lot of discoveries and these will serve as my guide in my daily life. Even if there are problems and challenges to be face, I will gain more confidence in myself to be able to coup up this challengges to any activities in my daily life.

''GOOD NUTRITION,GOOD HEALTH,GOOD CONDITION"

''Food is the foundation of life'' The science of health defines the food as the foundation of life. In fact food supplies the energy we need for our daily activities we meet in our daily life. Food sustains nutrients which are essential in keeping us in good health. Not only in health, foods also adds pleasure to our life. Can you imagine life without food? Eating foods gives us a chance to relax abd feel more comfortable. But, do this foods are really appopriate for our good nutrition?

Good nutrition provides the body with all the nutrients it needs. This nutrients are th chemical substances which are essential to our health as well as our growth,energy,and repair of tissues. These nutrients are the vitamins,minerals,fats,carbohydrates,protein and water. Vitamins,minerals,carbohydrates,fats and protein are usually found in the 3 basic food groups which are the GO,GROW,and Glow foods.Therefore we can say that eating variety of foods can sustain our body needs.

A good balance diet may contains all of the nutrients needed by our body. Improper diet may results to many chronical diseases like obesity,anorexia,ricketts,beriberi,iron defficiency anemia,pellagra and others. This diseases are very common especially if our diet is unbalanced. Example, lack of eating foods containing vitamin D results to ricketts. If you eat more on meats which contains big amount of fats may cause hypertension, rheumatic hearth disease,stroke and others. Diet should be balanced so that you will not get these common diseases and maintain your good health condition.

These diet changes have a great impact on our health as a nation. Today many causes of death are caused by improper and unbalanced diet and other lifestyle practices. Meanwhile,there is a need for us to eat our balanced diet to have a good nutrition, and together with the healthful practices like exercise and rest. As we know good nutririon provides our body needs, and good nutrition prevents lifestyle diseases. Therefore good nutrition have also an impat to us to be a better citizen in the society.
